Pearson Buys a Stake in Nook Media

It is no surprise to most in the world of education that Pearson is a big player in many areas. Pearson has made a step into a new realm by purchasing a 5% stake in Nook Media. Nook Media is the joint ebook venture/collaboration between Barnes & Noble and Microsoft. Pearson’s $89.5 million investment is rather unprecedented, and could lead to interesting things. Could this lead to wider popularity of interactive e-textbooks in education? Only time will tell.
